This will work fine on all modern Linux-en AFAICT; I think we
would rather go a single /etc/crond.d/pcp (this is what we've
done in production here), which covers the daily and check
logger functionality.  Ditto for pmie.  Perhaps a goal for next
release (along with shiny new logconf).

*nod* ... think that ship has sailed and not convinced there's
really much gain down that route.
