pmlogrewrite - lots of changes
Fine-tuning of exiting tests 481, 483, 486, 488, 490 and 492 to add
some more tests, but mostly to pick up changes to error messages,
bug fixes and improved semantic checks as pmlogrewrite evolved.

Housekeeping
Extend the findmetric script to search for metrics from the local
pmcd or from the QA archives.
Add the new checked in archives to the GNUmakefile.

492, 493 - more pmlogrewrite test cases
492 - some run-time error cases
493 - serious rewriting cases
included here are cases used in QA/490 when testing for memory
access problems and memory leaks ... the veracity of the output
archives is checked here not there
Also some additional checked in archives and script changes to record
the recipes used to create those archives.
