With Frank's suggestion of a per-file config option to the logger PMDA
to enable/disable this behaviour, and assuming the pmStore is benign if
the metric does not have sensitive mode enabled, then this seems like an
acceptable short-term fix.

Longer-term we probably need to grasp the nettle of authentication and
capabilities to control access to parts of the PCP exported info, but no
one seems to be volunteering to take ownership of this (even though it
is on the PCP 4.0 wish list).
