I think this work is now done and checked into the dev branch of my git
tree on oss.sgi.com.

I've updated http://oss.sgi.com/~kenj/per-client-ctx.html to reflect
what was done (perhaps we need a real repository for design
documents?) ... see the sections headed === Implementation Note ===  for
details of difference between what was proposed and what was actually
done.

This should be enough to start the implementation of a PMDA that
supports client registration and de-registration for event traces ...
I'd like to see some discussion on this topic, especially from the
systemtap folk.

I'll revisit the related issue of event record packing in a pmResult
over the next few days.
