yup, that would be useful.  this sounds alot like what pmie(1) does,
so you may want to grab some ideas from that tool (pmie is a very
complex & powerful tool).

sounds a bit confusing the way you've said it ... wouldn't having two
pcpmon windows side-by-side (running over the same archive, just at
different offsets) allow one to make this sort of comparison?
(without additional code in pcpmon?)
