Dear All,

I applied the patch
http://www.venaas.priv.no/ipv6/srcaddrsel.html
of Stig Venĺs to kernel 2.4.0-test8, it works well.
I would like to know if his patch will be included in the final
version of kernel 2.4.0.

Here at CERN we set up an experimental network to test IPv6
applications. Our machines have three IPv6 addresses and for
some applications it is essential to choose the right route
through the network, which can be done only if the source
address of the client application match with the destination
address. Therefore I consider the patch of Stig Venĺs very
useful, it solves the problem and it would be useful to
include it in the final version of kernel 2.4.0. If not
we have to patch the source code for each Linux box on the
exerimental IPv6 network. And perhaps not only here at our
institute.
