Hi,

For those who ever asked how to tunnel IP or PPP over Linux X.25:
Please have a look at

       http://www.baty.hanse.de/linux-x25/sk_tunnel

As this is the first public release (alpha) it might be buggy.

Features:

- Supports tunneling PPP and raw-IP over the Linux PF_X25 sockets.
- Tunnel data remains in kernel.
- Connection control and policy decisions fully remain in user
space, using the standard socket API.
- Uses standard ppp_generic inside kernel and pppd in user space.
- Should be re-usable for other Linux protocol stacks which provide
a socket API with SOCK_DGRAM or SOCK_SEQPACKET semantics.

The latter still needs to be proved (and of corse, it will still
require knowledge and work to interface it with other protocol stacks).
The design definitely intends to be re-usable. The files of the
initial alpha test release are however placed inside the net/x25.
directory. I´m very interested in comments from maintainers of other
linux protocol stacks who intend to support IP or PPP tunneling
over their protocol stack. Do you think the stuff is useful and fits
your needs?

For more details, please read the README file of the sk_tunnel-0.1
release and the Documentation/networking/sk_tunnel.txt of a
patched kernel.

Henner
