FWIW, I tried ioc3-eth.c rev 1.16, and UP networking works with that.
So does tot rev 1.18. I don't think Ralf (or anyone else) yet understands
what the problem with UP networking is/was, but temporarily it seems
to be getting masked. 

Just fyi, and please let me know if you observe the same behavior.
