kernprof patch for K3 scheduler??

Hello all,
  I am working to profile a 2.4.18 tree that has a different scheduler.
I have sched-01-2.4.18-pre8-K3.patch applied.  This makes a
radically different sched.c.
    I am looking at using the sched.c part of the 2.5.x kernprof patch?
Should this work, the sched.c part of the 2.5.x patch with the rest
of the 2.4.x patch?
