Taking dump from kdb prompt

Hi,

If i configure kexec/kdump for taking dump in case of crash and also
configure kdb then what would happen?

I mean when a crash occurs kdb prompt appears. My question is when this
prompt appears? Before or the dump kernel captured the dump?

If i reboot the system would i get the dump in /var/crash?
