Its a scene often replayed across the nation: a man moaning he doesn't feel well, a woman nagging him to go to the doctor, and the man vaguely shrugging: I might go later, with clearly no intention of going at all.

Sometimes this doesn't matter, and the man's flu or cold quickly passes.

Learn the early symptoms and signs here.

But sometimes, it matters a lot. With Prostate cancer, detecting symptoms early and getting treatment is the key to a successful recovery.

An early diagnosis gives a man a 90% chance of surviving more than ten years. A late diagnosis, when its already spread to stage four, mean a mere 30% chance that youll live for more than five.
Early detection is the number one factor in determining the outcome, recovery and future for men with Prostate Cancer.

A study led by the University at Buffalo and Roswell Park Cancer Institute has identified
beliefs and personality traits that are associated with higher levels of distress in newly diagnosed prostate cancer patients.
The findings support the value of emotional and informational support for patients and perhaps
early counseling for some who are the most distressed.
Factors that were
associated with greater distress included a lack of confidence in deciding
how to treat the cancer, being concerned that the cancer will progress, feeling that one's masculinity was under threat and tendencies to be less optimistic and resilient.
