Very inetresting. I get the code to compile and link, too. And when I run, I get
a segmentation fault. I do use gcc to compile. And I am having pretty much the
same difficulties with the code. So don't let them fool you into using gcc...
One note: I got rid of the floorf etc, problems by specifying the symbol
_DOUBLE_MATH_ONLY.
Were you able to build the shared libraries? (I wasn't)
About your error message: I get similar warning when running old X applications
in the wrong color depth mode. Maybe you can try switching your color depth.
