Greetings,

Ok ive been hunkering over my computer for the last few days wondering
why
and how fam can work with xinetd... Now I was looking through the message
archives and I saw something where someone had built some packages for RH7.1
well I d/l then and tried to install it on my mandrake 8 system on my laptop
and to no evail it didnt work... I dont remember what it said I just deleted
teh rpms and have been looking at the source since. Im just wondering is
there anyway the source will compile with xinetd?? Because from what i ave
found with Mandrake 8 that even when you start fam with the fam -T 0 command
fam is running but nothing will connect to it.... So has anyone any ides on
how they got that to work with RH 7.1 and could you give me any insite on
what I need to do to get it to work with Mandrake 8.0 or hell even mandrake
7.2 so I dont have to start the daemon manually? Is anyone making new
patches for fam anymore?? I really dont know how many programs use fam but
I know that the new version of enlightenment will and I would figure that
fam would need to be maintained..... Anyway thoughts or ideas??

Thanks

Nick Hudson
