Thank you very much.  That fixed the problem. 
I will note, however, I've currently applied this patch to cK's version of FAM 
(fam-oss-2.6.4) which builds cleanly on Solaris, and now also seems to work 
cleanly.  I have numberous problems with fam 2.6.7, but I plan to look into 
these problems and hopefully submit a patch sometime next week (i hope).
