Hi

On Linux (mainly for gnome, I can't speak for others), fam was replaced with gamin.

It appears that fam has had little development over past couple years.

Gentoo Linux, NetBSD and FreeBSD have several patches for getting fam to
build. Also the BSDs have additions for "kqueue" support.

I have also seen patches for Solaris too.

Are there plans to have an official release for fam that includes the many
patches?

(I can provide links to many patches and build workarounds.)

Or is there a replacement for fam that some are moving to?

Please carbon copy me on replies.
