Just curious if new release(s) [FAM & imon] supporting 2.4.8 and/or
2.5.x have availability dates?

FAM and IMon releases are independent of each other.

FAM does not depend on any particular kernel version (that is: it
should work fine on 2.2 and 2.4 kernels).

I have stopped actively maintaining IMon as I was not happy with the
way we were patching into the kernel, and it was taking too much
effort to make IMon patches given the rapid pace with which new kernels
are released.

FAM/DNotify is an alternative to FAM/IMon. It is not quite as
featureful in some aspects, however it should be a viable replacement.
It's being used on many Linux distributions. You might like to get
the DNotify patch from <URL:ftp://oss.sgi.com/projects/fam/download/>
and try it. I expect to include DNotify support in our FAM sources
when I release 2.7 one day.

I think there were also some IMon patches contributed for more recent
2.4 Linux kernels (indeed I'm fairly sure there was one for 2.4.8).
They should be available in OSS Bugzilla and/or from the FAM download
area, however there are some problems with oss.sgi.com, so I can't
check at the moment.

In brief:
1) I'm no longer officially supporting IMon patches for Linux
2) DNotify is the preferred kernel monitor for FAM on Linux.
A patch to add DNotify support is available in the FAM download
   area (when oss.sgi.com is available).
3) Users have contributed unofficial IMon patches. These patches
should be available somewhere on oss.sgi.com. Users are
welcome to continue providing such patches.

I hope this information helps, and I'm sorry I can't give more
details at this time due to service problems on oss.sgi.com.

If you have any more questions, please write back.

Regards
