Hi.
First, am wondering if there is a dnotify patch for 2.6.9, or is it the
case that one is not needed (i.e. patch is already done in the source)?
Not knowing this, I went back a version took 2.6.8 and its patch; however,
that patch seems to be for 2.6.7.
With all that confusing me, I then fell back to 2.6.4, since that has
been around awhile. I got the patch to take just fine, but now I seem
to be having problems with the aclocal, autoconf, and autoheader actions
that get run after configuration during make.
So as not to repeat the problems here, they generally mirror the problems
another gentleman was having near the end of June, though they are slightly
different. I tried the suggestions given to him, but that just put me
deeper in the mire. I have no clue how to fix these types of problems, since
I am not an autoconf/m4 expert.
I am using linux 2.4.19, gcc 2.95.3, libtool 1.4.2, automake 1.6.1, and
glibc 2.2.5.
Please let me know if I should send more detailed output. Also, please let
me know if it is safe to go back to 2.6.9 and still get the dnotify
functionality.
Thx,
jbh
