devfs and rtc?

Greetings,

I just enabled the real time clock in my kernel,
and rebuilt.  The object rtc.o got built, and I
presume linked into the final kernel.  After reboot,
however, I couldn't see anything in dmesg and
I couldn't find anything in /dev.

Has anyone had trouble with rtc and devfs?
