checking mount status from kernelspace

Hi,

>From kernelspace I'm trying to determine if a devfs filesystem is mounted
in /dev.

Userspace just checks for the existence of /dev/.devfsd, and while I could
hijack sys_call_table[SYS_stat], I thought there must be a cleaner method.

(i.e. call some devfs_ function and check for some definitive return status)

Any ideas?
