The question is simply how to get the sound modules to load when using the
XMCD cd player.

I see the list of aliases in modules.devfs, but none of these things seem to
get
tickled when XMCD starts.

In fact the only way I have been able to get it to load (other than doing it
manually)
is to add 'emu10k1' to the end of the
        probeall /dev/cdroms
line in /etc/modules.devfs.

Not very nice since this seems out of place, and the file gets regenerated
every
now and then.

SO HOW is one supposed to get these/this module loaded? Watching the MODPROBEs
go by in /var/log/messages (I added a write near the top of modprobe) I dont
see anything
happening that one could hope to key on.
