Hi All,
Let me introduce myself first. My name is Robin Holt and I have
been handed the task of maintaining the Linux CSA pieces. I
will continue to layer off the PAGG and PAGG-JOB pieces as before
so expect a delay from when those are made available until the
CSA patches are on ftp://oss.sgi.com/projects/csa/download.
As the subject line indicates, the 2.4.16, 2.4.17 and 2.5.1
patches should be coming out within a week or so. I have
eliminated the csa and csa_module style of patch. There is
now a single kernel patch. This was done to ease my overhead
of maintaining the oss.sgi.com patches as well as the patches
for our internal project. There didn't seem to be a reason
to split them. If this was wrong, please privately flame me
and I can sort that out in the future.
The userland tools remain relatively unchanged. I will increment
the version number mainly due to the syscall number changing.
I have some patches which have been proposed, but have not yet
been applied. Once the regression tests have been corrected
for 2.4.16 and all the changes in the RedHat 7.2 environment,
I should be incorporating those and making them available.
As a matter of making my life simpler, I have and kernel-2.4.9-13.csa.src.rpm
and the resultant output of rebuilding this package. Would anyone
be interested in a precompiled kernel. On my stock RedHat 7.2 i686,
I can install this package (does not overwrite the stock kernel).
This is then added to my grub list as vmlinux-2.4.9-13.csa. Please
give your feedback on this.
Thanks,
Robin Holt
