In a story I read to my kids, only Horton the elephant (with his large
ears) hears the tiny Whos inhabiting a dust mote. The other jungle
animals threaten to boil the mote in oil unless the Whos shout loud
enough for them to hear. Only when all the Whos, including the very
smallest, yell together do the other animals hear and believe. [Horton
Hears a Who, by Dr. Seuss.]

Now is the time for all you Accelerating Apache Project supporters, no
matter how small, to voice your support for this project to the ASF. As
I announced a month ago on the project site I can't keep porting the
patches to new versions of Apache. If the ASF adopts them into the main
stream you won't need me to. They have declined, but they may change
their minds if you vouch for the stability, usefulness, and speed of the
patches. Quantify the number of sites, systems, and different platforms
on which you use the patches. Tell them you value speed as well as
portability. Explain what you want now, because they don't know. They
don't hear me, a single voice, but they may hear a chorus.
