SGI XFS Linux Release 1.1

XFS for Linux Release 1.1 supports x86 and IA-64 architectures. It provides bug fixes and general performance improvements to XFS Linux Release 1.0.2. For a list of changes and bugfixes that have been made since the 1.0.2 release, see the XFS for Linux Release 1.1 Change Log.

XFS Installation

Because this release requires a 2.4 kernel, it may require some updates to your system if you are currently running the 2.2.x series kernels. Please see the latest Linux 2.4 Changes document for details on the minimum levels of software necessary to install and run a Linux 2.4 kernel.

If you want to install a new system to run XFS Linux Release 1.1, you can use the SGI XFS Filesystem 1.0.2 Release system installer, available as an ISO image.
