On May 1 2001, SGI made available Release 1.0 of its high-end XFS file
system for Linux.
XFS, widely recognized as the industry-leading high-performance
filesystem, provides rapid recovery from system crashes
and the ability to support extremely large disk farms. XFS is
the first journaled filesystem for Linux
available today that has
a proven track record in production environments
since late 1994.
For a listing of the capabilities and specifications
of XFS, see
XFS for Linux Features.

XFS is licensed under the GPL.

Tue Dec 17 2002 We apologize for the delay in finalizing 1.2 but internal
projects are taking most of the testing resources and we simply
have not given this release the full suite of testing.
Any help in testing is greatly appreciated.
