<p>
XFS for Linux Release 1.0 differs from Pre-release
0.10 in the following ways:
</p>

<ul>
<li>
Filesystem group quotas
<p>
XFS 1.0 provides a complete implementation of filesystem quota.
This includes support for both user and group quota, and unlike
other Linux filesystems, quota information is considered metadata
under XFS and is journaled. Due to the higher level guarantees
of consistency this provides, there is no need for the use of
quotacheck(8) with XFS filesystems.
</p>

<p>
The Linux quota user tools now provide complete support for XFS
filesystems (see
<a href="http://sourceforge.net/projects/linuxquota">the Linux
DiskQuota Summary page)</a>
in addition to numerous bug fixes from earlier releases.
</p>

</li>

<li>
The SGI XFS Filesystem 1.0 Release for Red Hat 7.1 Installer is
available as an
<A HREF="ftp://oss.sgi.com/projects/xfs/download/Release-1.0/iso">ISO
image</A>, from which you can create a bootable
installer CD-ROM.  This CD-ROM, together
with the original Red Hat 7.1 installation media, will allow you to
install an XFS-capable system based on Red Hat 7.1.
</li>

<p>
<li>
Several bug fixes have been made, based on testing and feedback
on the Linux Release 1.0.
</li>

</ul>
