On May 1 200, SGI made available Release 1.0 of its high-end XFS file
system for Linux. XFS for Linux version 1.0
works with a Linux 2.4.2-based kernel.

XFS Availability and Release Caveats
</font></h2>
<p>
SGI XFS Linux Release 1.0 is available as a
<a href="1.0_source.html">patch</A>
against linux-2.4.2, linux-2.4.3, and
Red Hat 7.1.
It is also available as a set of
<a href="1.0_rpm.html"> RPMs</a>
built for Red Hat Linux 7.1.
A
<a href="1.0_installer.html"> system installer</a>
is also provided which will
work with Red Hat Linux v7.1 installation media to
install a Red Hat Linux v7.1 system with XFS on root,
or any other partition, right out of the box.

updates to your system if you are currently running the 2.2.x series

There are some differences in the implementation of Linux

Extensive testing of XFS Linux 1.0 was done to ensure the quality of this
product.
