Ask TS directly whether the device xfsdump is using is fixed or variable,
rather than trying to infer it from the result of a MTIOCGETBLKINFO call.
Previously when xfsdump thought it was using a fixed device that was
actually variable, it would bail out after failing to set the blocksize.

The DMF-specific code in xfsdump was taking a shortcut in
estimating the dump size of a file in order to avoid the
cost of reading the DMF extended attribute. This caused
migrating (MIG) files to be identified as dual-state (DUL)
files, which lead to an estimated size of 0 for MIG files
rather than their true size.

In general it's okay for the estimate to be wrong, but there
are a couple of cases where the estimate needs to be as
accurate as possible, even if it means slowing down the
initial inode scan. These cases are 1) multiple dump streams,
since the estmated size is used to determine where to split
the dump, and 2) when excluding files over a certain size
from the dump. Only the second case applies on Linux, since
multiple dump streams are not currently supported.

This mod changes the DMF-specific code to get an accurate
dump size estimate when either of the above cases are in
effect.

Change xfsdump to use its inode map to determine the next inode
of interest when doing inode scans. This prevents unecessary
bulkstat calls when dumping only a fraction of a filesystem,
e.g., when doing a subtree or incremental dump.

Improve subtree dump performance. The old way of doing
subtree dumps was to scan the entire filesystem and
add all inodes to the inomap. The non-selected subtrees
were then recursed over and those inos were effectively
removed from the inomap. The amount of take this takes
if related to the size of the filesystem, not the size
of the subtree(s) being dumped.

The new way of building the inomap for subtree dumps
is to recurse over the selected subtrees and adding
each ino to the dump. There's no need to do a full
filesystem scan to build the inomap, and no need to
scan files that are not in the selected subtree. As
a result this tends to be a 5-10x speedup over the
old method, depending on the size of the subtree
relative to the size of the filesystem.

Change xfsrestore to use the DMF NOMIGR (no-migrate) attribute when
restoring DMF files. This will prevent DMF from touching the file
while it is being restored, and will also prevent DMF from viewing
the file as invalid which could cause false errors to be reported
by DMF during a restore. These changes are being placed in the
hsmapi.c file to isolate the DMF-specific code from the rest of
xfsdump.

Change tape strategies to default to using a single media file,

When restoring a filesystem that is nearly full, writes start to
fail with ENOSPC even though the filesystem is not actually full.
This is a result of XFS's delayed allocation.

Change xfsrestore to retry a write that fails with ENOSPC after
issuing a fdatasync call. If it still fails, issue a sync call
and retry once more.

The next release of DMF (3.1) will introduce a new attribute
format. This mod makes xfsdump handle the new and old formats.
It also fixes a bug where the DMF code in xfsdump would create
an attribute in the root and secure namespaces, rather than
just in the root namespace.

- Fix file descriptor leak in path_to_fshandle. It now caches
one descriptor per filesystem.
- In xfsrestore, always allocate a fs handle during content_init.
This allows us to not have to call path_to_fshandle before attempting
every open_by_handle.

passing a file handle (instead of a fshandle).

Some of the libhandle routines were not clear whether they were working
on fshandles or file handles.  This mod renames open_by_handle() to
open_by_fshandle() and updates any calling applications to now call
open_by_fshandle() instead.  A new open_by_handle() has been created.

path_to_fshandle() was trying to maintain a hash of fshandles but the
hash was only storing a max of 2 fshandles at a time.  This has been
fixed so the hash can hold multiple fs handles.

Add support to properly dump and restore the new inode flags:
immutable, append, sync, noatime and nodump.  Add all inode
flags, new and old, to the list defined in _mk_fillconfig_ea()
of cmd/xfstests/common.dump.  Test 063 can be used to verify
the proper backup and restore of these flags.  Also update man
pages to 1) remove reference to miniroot (IRIX-only), 2) document
the new XFS_XFLAG_NODUMP inode flag as the preferred method to
exclude files, and 3) better describe how the media inventory
files can be used.

The code for the inode flags was contributed by Ethan Benson,
with copyright assignment obtained by Nathan Scott.

When xfsdump was modified in 2.2.13, the ioctl used to backspace over the
stream terminator was changed from MTBSF to MTBSFM to match the ioctl
description in the old MT(1L) man page.  The behavior of the MTBSF[M] ioctls
have recently changed in Linux as documented in the latest MT(1) man page.

Old Behavior:
   MTBSF  - Backward space count files.  The tape is positioned on the first
            block of the next file.
   MTBSFM - Backward space count file marks.  The tape is positioned on the
            beginning-of-tape side (in front) of the file mark.
New Behavior:
   MTBSF  - Backward space count files.  The tape is positioned on the last
            block of the previous file.
   MTBSFM - Backward space count files.  The tape is positioned on the first
            block of the next file.

The code was changed to MTBSFM in order to end up on the BOT (left) side of
the filemark to overwrite the terminator.  Due to the change in ioctl behavior,
MTBSFM now positions us on the first block of the next file. This means the
stream terminator is never getting overwritten and xfsdump thinks there is only
ever one dump on the tape (and overwrites any dumps previously appended to the
first dump).

The TS tape driver code has been fixed to match the new ioctl behavior, and
this mod will change the xfsdump code back to use MTBSF once again.  However,
APD 2.8 (the fix) won't be released until spring 2004... and TS backups won't
work properly with 2.2.15 without the fix in APD 2.8.  For this reason, this
mod also adds a temporary workaround to call the 'real' TS status ioctl,
MTIOCGET_SGI, rather than the ST-emulated status ioctl, MTIOCGET (with bug).
Once MTIOCGET_SGI has been called to get the correct status of the TS device,
a new routine called map_ts_status() must be used to map the TS mt_dposn
field back to the ST mt_gstat for xfsdump to understand the binary flags.

First step toward making the xfsdump inventory not break the FHS spec.
Previously, xfsdump wrote to /var/xfsdump for all its inventory data 
needs.  This is now a runtime decision - for existing installations we
continue doing just that, for new installations we use the compliant-
with-FHS directory /var/lib/xfsdump.  Note: cannot just mv one to the
other as xfsdump is "clever" enough to store full pathnames in all its
inventory file - this issue will be resolved by Ivan in an upcoming
xfsinvutil checkin.
