Sorr for not getting back to you. It turns out that simply using O_EXCL is fairly easy, but fitting it into a portabilitity framework isn't. So I think I'll have to give up on that attempt for now. That being said I think ustat fits pretty well for this use case, so getting rid of it might need a little more justification. |
