Hi Linus, Andrew, all,
I've decided to move on from SGI, and go try my hand at something new.
I'll be here for two more weeks, then away from email for at least two
more (nathans@xxxxxxxxxx should always reach me, however). I am in
the process of handing off my XFS responsibilities to other guys here;
Tim Shimmin (tes@xxxxxxx) and David Chatterton (chatz@xxxxxxx) will be
taking over merges with the mainline kernel, with the usual excellent
help from David Chinner (dgc@xxxxxxx) and the rest of the XFS team.
My new job is only peripherally related to filesystems and kernel
hacking, but I would expect to still be occassionally hacking on Linux
related odds and ends. Well, I hope so anyway, its been great fun!
XFS is far from a "complete work", of course ... I know there are many
interesting performance/scaling improvements, and several new features
in progress, as well as the usual set of bug fixes being worked on. I
am now very much looking forward to watching from outside SGI as these
pieces are slotted into place, and I wish the XFS team all the best!
cheers.
