Hello,

I had an XFS filesystem crash using 2.6.15.7 with sws2-2.2 and
CONFIG_REGPARM some week ago (not the one yesterday that was without
CONFIG_REGPARM). The kernel crashed down badly and the XFS formatted
debian root partition was so corrupted that I decided to restore a
backup. I did not report it since I was busy doing other stuff.

I thought this happened due to CONFIG_REGPARM being set... I am not so
sure anymore since I now had that bad crash with 2.6.15 without
CONFIG_REGPARM being set (see my last mails).

Now given that CONFIG_REGPARM defaults to being enabled with 2.6.17 I am
interested whether its safe to use with XFS. I do not use it currently to
be on the safe side.

This is the patch that enabled it by default:
http://kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commit;h=b824eb605ccba995fd32c6590aed365f93d48002

I asked the same question for software suspend 2 on
suspend2-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Regards,
