First, I have a normal backup routine that is incremental Monday thru Saturday
and full dump on Sunday.
Second, I recently installed a new primary disk drive and used xfsdump /
xfsrestore (i.e. xfsdump -J - / | xfsrestore -J - /newroot) to duplicate my
old drive. This was done on Sunday after the full backup ran.
When my incremental (level 1) ran this morning, I got the following error
message for all of my partitions.
/sbin/xfsdump: using file dump (drive_simple) strategy
/sbin/xfsdump: version 2.2.21 (dump format 3.0) - Running single-threaded
/sbin/xfsdump: ERROR: cannot calculate incremental dump: online inventory not
available
/sbin/xfsdump: Dump Status: ERROR
Am I missing something? I would have assumed that xfsdump would have captured
the dump inventory and brought it across to the new partition.
Thanks;
Joe
