sure could be :)  Ouch, those are single filesystem blocks in each 
extent, in the beginning of the file.

As Chris suggests, if there are, for example, 2 logs growing in that 
same dir, they may well get interleaved with each other.  It might be 
simplest to just rotate this log more often so that even if it's highly 
fragmented, it still won't have too many extents total.
