In general, linux 2.4 kernels are not safe > 1T.   It is highly 
dependent on whether the filesystem, vfs, IO layers, and lower level 
drivers are all 32-bit safe.

Your best bet would probably be to run xfs_repair under a 2.6 kernel 
with CONFIG_LBD enabled.
