Thanks very much for this.  I'm interested in the DMAPI stuff 
particularly.  I'm curious, now that the DMAPI code has some filesystem 
independence, is it inching closer to being included in the baseline 
linux kernel?  Are you aware of any linux distributions that include  
DMAPI?
