xfsrestore on non-xfs filesystem ?

Is it possible to restore files from a xfsdump backup on a non-XFS 
filesystem ? 

Here is was I get when I try to restore on an ext3 filesystem 

gaspard:/restore# xfsrestore -i -f /dev/nst0 /restore
xfsrestore: using scsi tape (drive_scsitape) strategy
xfsrestore: version 2.2.25 (dump format 3.0) - Running single-threaded
xfsrestore: unable to construct a file system handle for /restore: 
Inappropriate ioctl for device
xfsrestore: Restore Status: ERROR
