Looking back through the changes in XFS I can't see anything
that might explain this.

There were four changes to fs/direct-io.c between 2.6.5 and 2.6.6,
I wonder if you could back these out one by one, re-running your
test on XFS without each one, and see if its one of those changes
(if you use bitkeeper, you can see and extract those individual
changes - probably the easiest way to do this).

Let me know which it is, if any; that'll give me a good starting
point to track it down. If its not those, we'll try another tack.

thanks!
