I noticed as much. And guess what - it worked!

No delays or anything (extra) needed. It just works fine now.

What I'm about to test is a different way of doing it since
I can't be arsed to (in the installer) try to figure out which
the boot device is I'll simply freeze /, unfreeze /, freeze /boot
and finally unfreeze /boot. Yes, cumbersome, yes, might slow
things down, but what the hell, it's right at the end of the
install.

That's nice. Oh well, nothing to worry about, it just means
that if you don't have a seperate /boot your root partition
will be frozen and unfrozen twice.

Right. Well, what I have left to test is what happens if the root
and/or /boot partition isn't xfs. I'll only try using ext3 though.

But partial success so far at least.
