Hi, Here is one more issue between XFS and grub. When you install grub, you have two options of the place where the grub goes into. One is MBR, the other is the first sector of the boot partition. For XFS, MBR is ok but installting into the first sector causes a problem though no problem for ext2/3 partitons, because a XFS partition seems to have its volume string at from 108th byte to 120th byte and it will be overwritten by grub.
