closed-unsubscription? [Fwd: Ecartis command results: unsubscribe linux-xfs ep@xxxxxxxxxx]

As there is no email address for the list-owner in the headers of emails 
of this list nor on the sgi webpage, may I ask, why this list is 
"closed-unsubscription"? Why should people not be allowed to unsubscribe?

Please list admin authorize my request for unsubscription.
