Hi.
I am preparing to install Redhat 9 on a system which
is currently running Mandrake Linux with XFS. Am I
going to have to reformat the drive array atteched to
the system for this transition to work?
If you use standard RH9 installer - yes.
If you use either the CD ISO with XFS support - no.
If you use the DVD ISO with XFS support - no.
But I would recommend using Fedora Core 1 instead.
I only know of my DVD which you can find at
ftp://ftp.uninett.no/pub/Linux/RH-XFS-DVD/
It contains FC1 + many updates + XFS support.
You DO know FC1 can be seen as "RedHat 9.1" or "RedHat 10"
as it's basically the same but updated.
I am proceeding ahead either way. There's no turning
back now.
Good luck.
