When I recently rebuilt my server, I wanted to install redhat 9, however
the installer would hang on my RAID adapter during install. I eventually
tried my redhat 8.0 XFS installer disks and got it installed. While
waiting on the install, I surfed around a bit and found yum. Since that
discovery I have upgraded one RH8-XFS system to RH9-XFS, one from RH8-XFS
to FC1, and another from RH9 to Fedora.

For desktop systems you may want the intelligence of an installer so that
you are offered the new options on your next login, but for servers your
don't have to be concerned so much.

You can find software, documentation, and yum archives here:
