Linux masterd 2.4.20-softpower #1 Tue Dec 2 12:53:05 PST 2003 i686 unknown

has a similar problem.

Running the creation of 600,000 directories results in the free memory (exluding
cache) dropping until the oom killer reaps everything but the kernel.

bash-2.05a# cat /proc/slabinfo | grep xfs

bash-2.05a#

If I unmount the volume and remove the xfs module, the memory is freed back up.

xfs_check also dies when trying to check this filesystem.

Filesystem: 800 GBs on a LVM volume.
System P4 with 512 mb ram.
