Hello Eric,

We talked about a month ago. I had some problems installing to a SCSI
based system from the forRH-9.0-SGI-XFS-1.3.0-v1.iso ISO image. The
solution was to rebuild the initrd image using mkinitrd --with=xfs.

Just last week, I tried to install on an IDE based system. I was
unable to install from the forRH-9.0-SGI-XFS-1.3.0-v1.iso ISO image. I
was able to upgrade after installing from the RedHat 9.0 CDs. Below are
the steps I followed:

        1) Failed to install from SGI-XFS CD.

Inserted an ISO CD burned from the
forRH-9.0-SGI-XFS-1.3.0-v1.iso ISO
I downloaded months ago. I ran the CD verification option which passed
fine (it stated that it was disk 4). I had also verified that the linux
rescue option booted and worked correctly prior to this.

When the actual install began, it asked for the first CD. When
I
inserted the RedHat9.0 install CD1, the install complained that it
wasn't an SGI-XFS CD. I was unable to continue with the install.

        2) Installed from RedHat 9.0, then rpm'd the kernel from SGI-XFS CD.

I did a complete install from the RedHat CDs. Then I
installed the
rpms from the SGI-XFS CD and converted the file systems. I ran into the
same problem as the prior install in that the initrd did not contain the
XFS module. I booted into linux rescue mode from the SGI-XFS CD and ran
the mkinitrd command (without the --with=xfs option). The machine then
booted.

        My questions are as follows:

        a) Did I do something wrong on the install from the SGI-XFS CD? Are
there more CD iso's than just the forRH-9.0-SGI-XFS-1.3.0-v1.iso?

        b) Will there be an install iso for XFS-1.3.1?
