Hello,

we had a major crash after data saving on a Redhat Linux machine. We
need urgently some deeper information about the XFS filesystem.

The log of the datasaving shows:

 session 2:
  mount point: server:/daten
  device: server:/dev/md1
  time: Sat Nov 8 23:59:51 2003
  session label: "Backup-daten"
  session id: aa74565f-341f-4967-9267-cb874453fcc0
  level: 0
  resumed: NO
  subtree: NO
  streams: 1
  stream 0:
   pathname: /daten2/Backup/backup-daten
   start: ino 0 offset 0
   end: ino 0 offset 0
   interrupted: YES
   media files: 0
xfsdump: Dump Status: SUCCESS

The xfsdump was running, but the whole INO table of the harddisk is
completely gone. We have some detailed questions about the
filesystem:

How can we find the session ID aa74565f-341f-4967-9267-cb874453fcc0
on the deleted harddisk?

How is the ID compressed on the disk?

How is the filesystem info at the beginning of the dump compressed?
(We can find the data, but we can't read the directory data of the
dump)

Are the INO's of the harddisk saved into the backup, too?

Thanks a lot

Best regards
