kernel=2.6.0-test* (SMP)
distro=RedHat 9 w/ XFS
glibc=2.3.2-27.9
xfs-cmds=1.3.1
When I compile the kernel w/ HIGHMEM64G=y, it will fail to boot.
The error message is:
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel
Using the kernel option mem with a number less than
4 GB will boot fine, ie, mem=3500M.
In other words, compiling it w/ HIGHMEM4G=y boots OK.
The 2.4.22 kernel doesn't have a problem w/ HIGHMEM64G=y.
(BTW, I upgraded to lilo version 22.5.8, but it didn't help.)
Any ideas of what I should try next?
Thank you,
vl
