According to the welcome banner on oss.sgi.com, it's using Pure-FTPd -
the Pure-FTPd FAQ states:

> Alternatively, you can use '-X' (--prohibitdotfilesread) to also prevent
> users from READING these files and going into directories that begin with
> "." .

As /projects/xfs is a link to /.pub0/xfs and the error message is
'Prohibited file name' - then does oss.sgi.com run Pure-FTPd with the -X
option?

Could someone at SGI please have a look at this?
