Does the stock RH driver work?  What scsi card do you have?  I'd be
surprised if the problem is specifically related to our installer, but
perhaps.

"unable to boot" isn't enough info to go on, what errors did you encounter?
I take it that you did not go through the full installer, since you
could not boot the iso, did you simply install the kernel, or?

mkinitrd looks at fstab and modules.conf when deciding which modules
to include - try "-v" to see what it's adding.  You can also specifically
include modules, try --with=xfs

Sounds like it all boils down to a bad initrd image.
