this is in the FAQ, its far more rare with current code, but its still
possible, and it is normal.
you can avoid it by setting the +S flag (with chattr) on these kinds of
troublesome
files (X stuff likes to keep those things open longer and write them
more often it seems). you will need my immutable/file-flags patch for
this to work though.
