Hi Guys,

We reported a data corruption problem using kernel-2.4.20 and XFS
snapshot-xfs-2.4.20-2003-04-07_05:19_UTC.

We upgraded our kernel to 2.4.21 and xfs-1.3pre4. After a little of
investigation, we found that the type of data corruption that we were
getting was related to fsync call made by the NFS daemon.(At the end of the
file some data was missing but the metadata was okay). It looks like the
fsync call is issued with 0 as the third parameter. (The file that we are
talking about is linux/fs/nfsd/vfs.c ). We changed the third parameter to 1
in order to wait until the metadata and data is stable in the storage
subsystem.

I think that you can close BUG #269 or you can tell us how to close it.

Due to more test cycle (it would have cost us, and cause we found what were
using to be stable enough) we didn't want to upgrade to the current release.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you very much for your support and great product.

XFS rocks!!!!!!

regards,
Gustavo Rincon.
Aman Shahi.
