Hi,just an idea - did you ever thought about implementing NFS v4 (Microsoft compatible) ACLs? (like "DELETE", "READ_ATTRIBUTES","ADD_SUBDIRECTORY" etc. - see http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3530.txt - section 5.11.2).
